Going the Distance!

Well hello there

Who would have thought a month ago I would be quitting my job and signing myself up to be filmed for a documentary called Going The Distance?  Certainly not me!!!

My life at the moment is all about opportunities coming my way and I’m loving every bit of it.  It just goes to show that if you focus on creating a better life for yourself then things just seems to fall in to place.  To top it off I’ll also be starting a new job next month back in the industry I’ve always loved – the travel industry.  Timing could not be any better

Produced by Blue Clay Productions, Going the distance will be a 6-part documentary series unveiling the real faces of dating in the city …it is being sponsored by RSVP, Choice Hotels, Dunk Island and many more generous businesses.

The production crew are taking 5 women (yeah that’s me) aged between 30-41 on the drive of our life. In just two weeks we will travel from Adelaide to Rockhampton on a journey of the heart. Exposing our greatest fears, sharing our tragic losses and diving head-first into a love adventure!

In addition, we will be raising funds for The Cancer Council with daily video uploads of our antics, tweets about charity fundraisers and Facebook updates.

Throughout the documentary you’ll also hear from leading relationship experts and psychologists about the current trends and the frightening reality that many single people are faced with.

This series will be heartfelt, inspirational and raw.

Real women on a quest for real love …

We’ve obtained so much media attention since Laticia Gibson, the producer of this documentary, launched this fantastic idea.  Take a look at us girls being interviewed on Sunrise last friday morning.  Talk about nerves!!!

And here’s my video introduction…uuuggh!!  I better get used to being on camera.

I’m soo pleased the production team have chosen to  support the Cancer Council.  Over the past couple of years it seems more and more people around me are being diagnosed with cancer.  Just today, I found out a friend of mine has been diagnosed with Leukaemia.  She is only in her 30′s and has young children.   My Step Father will also be lucky to last another year after being diagnosed with Melanoma 2 years ago.

We will be doing several fundraising events along the way but you may support us by making a small donation

Signed – a very nervous but excited Amanda
